A Home for the Ellsworths

If you know us very well you know that we have been waiting a long time to buy a home. Had the Lord lost our file? We looked at all kinds of houses - houses with toilets in the closet, houses without closets, houses in the 'hood (we looked at a lot of these), houses with offices in the bathroom, houses with bathtubs on the deck, houses without a place to park a car (not on the road either). By the end of this year we had pretty much given up. Then, about a week before Elise's birthday, we went to the temple and Elise fasted about finding a home for our family. On Monday Elise told the Lord she was going out to try to find a home. So she went and looked at houses and the last house she looked at was this home. It was just right for our family. So, we put in a lower offer and this week signed the papers to buy this home!

Today at church we were really struck by the fact that the Lord's promises are sure. We had been promised a beautiful home and finally found one. We saw the beautiful baby blessing of the child of friends who had waited many years for a child. Last Sunday was the baby blessing of the baby of a couple who had finally been able to adopt after eighteen years of waiting. Sometimes we want to give up on the Lord but these past few weeks have taught us that "those that wait upon the Lord" will indeed renew their strength. We know that this is true. Thanks Heavenly Father.
